Roomy is a link page drawn as a room, at roo.my and in the Roomy app. It is run by Quartz Apps LLC, the developer of the Roomy app, and it is for people aged 13 and over. This page sets out our standards against child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE).

Zero tolerance

We have zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation. Our Terms of use and Community guidelines ban:

There are no chats, no comments, no location tracking and no ads. Mailbox messages can only be left by people who are signed in and have a room, they can’t hold links, and the room’s owner can delete, block or report them.

How to report

In the app or on the web, choose Child safety as the reason. The room’s owner is never told who reported it.

If a child is in danger right now, call your local police. You can also report child sexual abuse material directly to NCMEC’s CyberTipline at report.cybertip.org or, in the UK, to the Internet Watch Foundation at report.iwf.org.uk.

What we do

How we find it

Reporting to NCMEC, and the law

We report apparent child sexual abuse material to NCMEC’s CyberTipline, which passes reports to the police. We keep what we reported for a year after the report, as US law requires. We may also report to the police.

We follow the child safety laws that apply to Roomy, including the US law that requires us to report to NCMEC. If we learn that an account belongs to a child under 13, we delete it. A parent or guardian who thinks their child under 13 has a Roomy account can email privacy@roo.my with the handle, and we will delete it.

Our child safety contact

Our contact for child safety is childsafety@roo.my, at Quartz Apps LLC. Write to it to report a concern, or with questions about how we keep children safe on Roomy.
