How do I get started?
Type the name you want on roo.my and sign in. Pick a starter room, and the editor opens so you can put your links on things in it.
In the app the steps are the same, and you can add your first link before you move in.
How do I edit my room?
On the web, open your room and press Edit room. In the app, use the Edit tab.
Visitors see your changes once you press Save.
Can I see the editor tour again?
Yes. On the web, open the Settings drawer in the editor and press Show me around at the bottom. In the app, go to Settings → Show me around.
Can I change my address?
Yes, once. Go to Settings → Change address on the web, or Settings → Address in the app. Your old address sends people to the new one for 14 days, then anyone can claim it.
A name is 3 to 24 letters and numbers, with a single . or _ between them if you like. No dot at the start or end. The name shown on your room is separate, and you can change it any time.
What can my links open?
Anything in your room can hold any link, up to 8, and every link is also in the list under your room.
A TV or a computer can play a YouTube or Vimeo video, and a record player or a radio can play a song from Spotify, SoundCloud, Apple Music or YouTube, up to 4 of these. A mailbox takes messages and a piggy bank takes tips.
Who can see my room?
You choose in Settings → Who can find it. Public rooms can show up in search engines and among the rooms Roomy suggests. Unlisted rooms open only for people who have the link.
How do coins work?
You earn coins. You can’t buy them. You get them for claiming your room, for quests on your Wallet, for inviting friends, and when people tip your room.
A tip is free: tap the piggy bank in someone’s room and they get 10 coins. Spend your coins on things in the shop.
How do notifications work?
In the app, go to Settings → Notifications and turn on the kinds you want: messages, tips, gifts and invites. A message notification shows who wrote, never what they wrote.
The website doesn’t send notifications.
How do I block someone?
In the app, open their room, tap ⋯ and then Block, or block them from a message. On the web, press Block on their message in your Messages.
They can’t message, tip or gift you, and they aren’t told. Unblock them in Settings → Blocked.
How do I delete my account?
Go to Settings → Delete account, on the web or in the app. You can download your data first.
It happens at once: your account, room, links and coins are gone, and your pictures within 30 days. Your name is held for 90 days so old links don’t lead to a stranger. Reports and coin records are kept, as the Privacy policy says.
How do I sign in?
With Apple, Google, Discord or your email. For email we send you a 6-digit code, and on the web a sign-in link as well.
Inside Instagram or TikTok, Google isn’t offered. Open roo.my in your phone’s browser to use it.
Is there an app?
Yes, for iPhone. It’s coming to the App Store. Until then your room works in any browser at roo.my.
